Our purpose is to develop and maintain an independent position as the premier provider of high quality cost effective medical services in our region.
OUR STAFF
The staff working with the physicians includes registered nurses, registered medical laboratory technologists, x-ray technicians, medical assistants, medical secretaries, medical receptionists and business office personnel. Our services also include x-ray departments, accredited clinical laboratories, treadmills and ambulatory heart monitoring. This allows you a comprehensive medical evaluation with a minimum number of visits.
APPOINTMENTS
Our physicians see patients by appointment in order to provide adequate time to examine each patient. If possible, please let us know at least 24 hours in advance if you need to reschedule.
AFTER OFFICE HOURS
A physician is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Should an emergency situation occur after office hours, or on weekends or holidays, contact the Community Hospital switchboard (540-981-7000) and ask the hospital operator to contact the physician on-call for your practice group (Internal Medicine Associates, North Roanoke Medical Associates, Roanoke Valley Medical Clinic, Salem Family Clinic and Starmount Clinic)
EMERGENCY CARE
Anytime you believe the situation is life threatening go to the emergency room of the nearest hospital and ask them to contact your physician. During office hours if the situation is not life threatening call your physician at one of our practice group locations.
INSURANCE
Our offices participate in the Medicare program. We are participants in most of the Blue Shield of Virginia programs. We will file your claim with your insurance carrier. Please bring your insurance card with you each time you visit any of our practice group locations.
MANAGED CARE
If you are a member of a PPO, HMO or other managed health insurance, certain rules and regulations may apply. Please be aware of your insurance requirements concerning referrals. Our office needs at least one week to schedule these appointments. If you have questions please let our office staff know.
FEES AND PAYMENT
You are
responsible for the payment of your medical care
costs. Payment is expected at the time of your visit. For your
convenience we accept cash, personal checks, Master Card and Visa. As
part of managed care and many insurance policies, co-payments
are
also your responsibility and must
be paid at the time of your visit.
Failure to do so may prevent treatment being given to you by your
physician.
